PitSkill is back, and we’ve put in place some measures to ensure we should never run into troubles again, it also allows us to scale up indefinitely, meaning we should no longer have any down-times to the website again!
What happened?
On the 30th of December, our dedicated server which hosts our database and race servers suffered an OS Drive fault which caused us unable to access the dedicated server or backups or database on it, we’ve resolved this and added extra backup plans to all of our databases and on the 2nd of January, we’ve relaunched the website with data as of the 30th of December, whilst also moving our databases to a more redundant platform with unlimited scalability!
What’s resolved as of this announcement?
Over the next few weeks, you may have some sporadic downtimes of the website and bots whilst we bring them up to speed on our new setup, this means that there may be some… slight issues here and there with some of the features on the website, some we’re aware of, but for any that you spot a little quirk here and there, you can report them in our discord forum for our developers to take a look at if we haven’t already spotted them!

What are we working on?
We’re currently working on resolving the Hotstint calculations from our race and practice servers as well as our hotlap information, however most other things should be up and running, since we’re running on a new setup, you may encounter some errors here and there which we haven’t had chance to test, however if you log them, we’ll be able to pick them up as we go along!
Closing Words
Thank you again for racing with us here at PitSkill and we’ll be improving over the coming year, look out for our Season 16 announcement which will come just before the 6hrs of Monza in January!
See you on the race track!
