Welcome to Season 9 of ThePitCrew’s Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione weekly championships, with new rules, new formats and new requirements, read on for all the information on what’s available for you to race in throughout the week!
Let’s drill through the changes we’re making to our championships this season and the reason we’re doing them:
BWP Changes
BWP is being changed and will be fleshed out in a brand new ruling document, which will make it more punishing for drivers who have picked up BWP but reducing the amounts required to pick up penalties, more information can be found in the new Season 9 Rules and Regulations when it is published.
Mandatory Voice Chat
Mumble will now be used as a mandatory voice chat during all Assetto Corsa Competizione championships, allowing for the stewards to have direct communications to all drivers at once which means that anything handled out of the simulation will be broadcasted to the drivers, warnings, localised yellow flags, qualifying rules, bringing the racing closer than ever before to realistic simulation racing, you’ll also be able to hear it in the broadcasts on the stream too!
Don’t worry, you won’t have to talk to anyone if you don’t want to you can create your own channel and lock it from everyone else, or just invite your friends.
Just want to sit in a lobby with no voice chat from anyone else but can’t be bothered to create a channel? We have that for you too.
Here’s a breakdown of how our mumble now works.
Race Control is able to broadcast to the whole server of racers.
We have 3 separate channel categories, with race control being able to communicate to all 3 at once!
- Quiet Channel – All drivers are muted.
- Open Channel – Drivers are unmuted and able to talk to eachother.
- Teams Channels – Create your own channel if you wish to have multiple members from your team to have a conversation with. ( Strategist etc. )
You may choose any of the above 3 options, allowing you to make sure you’re not being bothered by things you don’t want to be bothered by.
New Rules
Rules and Regulations have been updated, stewarding guidelines have changed and as a result, we’re attempting to make the racing closer, cleaner and more rewarding for all drivers out on track, the rules and regulations are being slightly tweaked, but not completely re-wrote to clean up some of the old rules or to enforce harsher penalties from rulings, wait until our Season 9 rules and announcement from our stewards are out to find out full details!
End of Season team Endurance
Mark the following date in your calendar, November the 6th, where we’ll be running an Endurance Race with Live Stewards, Teams and live commentary for the full race!
Reduced Commentary Days
We’ve reduced the number of days of commentary, to allow for us to improve our commentary, community, stream and reduce the load on our stewards and commentators, whilst we look to increase our teams.

Season 9 – Championships
Let’s have a look at what championships we have available for Season 9, as we’ve noted, we’ve reduced that amount of Assetto Corsa Competizione championships during the week down to 2 instead of 3, however with the fundurance, time-trials and Daily PitSkill races we announced on the lead up to Season 9, there’s a lot of racing going on every week to get involved with!
